BetMGM review

7.6out of 10

For recreational bettors who want an MGM-linked app with cash out, Edit My Bet and same-game parlays. Price-sensitive and winning bettors should take the better number elsewhere.

BetMGM is a 50/50 joint venture of MGM Resorts and Entain, licensed by the state regulator in each state it serves. Third-party lists count 22 or 23 legal states, and the fullest list also includes D.C.[2][6][7][8]

Its main lines are reported at the standard −110, its 2-team 6-point NFL teaser at −130, and it publishes no withdrawal schedule that could be read. Review sites describe an internal review of 2–4 or 3–5 business days, then the payment method’s own time.[55][61][63][27]

It told Massachusetts regulators it limits about 1% of bettors there, and state regulators have fined it in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado and Massachusetts, including over self-excluded players allowed to gamble (Pennsylvania, 2025), responsible-gaming non-compliance (New Jersey, June 2026) and bets on prohibited events (New Jersey, September 2026).[40][41][15][17][72][20][21]

Best for

  • Bettors who want to change a bet after placing it: Edit My Bet lets you add, swap or remove selections or raise the stake, and BetMGM says it is generally open when Cash Out is.[32][31]
  • Parlay players who want cash out on parlays and same-game parlays of up to 10 legs (third-party figure).[33][34]
  • Bettors in Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and West Virginia who also want an online casino from the same brand; one review site says BetMGM’s online casino is legal only in those four states.[6]

Skip it if

  • You bet main lines and care about price: reported −110 where FanDuel is reported at −108 costs $0.84 a $100 bet, $420.88 over 500 bets (example prices).[55][calc]
  • You bet 2-team NFL teasers: BetMGM’s own pages list −130, and a 2024 roundup had DraftKings at −120.[63][61]
  • You win consistently. BetMGM says it limits for patterns including exploiting price errors and syndicate play.[40]

How vigged scores it

7.6/10
  • Pricing 25%7.0

Standard −110 on main lines per one review site, with no reduced juice found. The 2-team NFL teaser at −130 is behind DraftKings’ reported −120, and parlays compound the margin leg by leg.[55][61][63][58]

  • Markets 15%8.5

Same-game parlays (reported up to 10 legs), teasers, live betting, cash out on straights and parlays, and Edit My Bet. The full sports list and prop depth were not confirmed from BetMGM.[31][32][33][34][35]

  • Limits 15%7.0

Typical US retail: BetMGM told Massachusetts regulators it limits about 1% of bettors there and cuts stake factors to 50%, 25% or lower. No reports of voided winning bets were found, so it stays on the 7 (typical) anchor.[40][41]

  • Payouts 15%7.0

No published BetMGM schedule. Review sites describe a 2–5 business-day review before the method’s own time, and 2022 BBB data gave BetMGM an F with 602 complaints over three years.[27][30][29]

  • App & site 10%8.0

One review site reports 4.8 on iOS from 240,000+ ratings and 4.2 on Google Play, so it sits between the 7 and 8.5 anchors, below the books whose ratings were confirmed in more than one source.[50]

  • Promos 5%7.0

A first-bet offer of up to $1,500 back in bonus bets, paid only if the first bet loses, as five non-withdrawable bonus bets that expire in 7 days; the full amount needs a $1,500 losing bet. Sources disagree on the qualifying amount and whether a code is needed.[8][37][38]

  • Safety & licensing 15%8.5

State licenses and owners that include NYSE-listed MGM Resorts. The record is mixed: fines since 2022 in Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Colorado and Massachusetts, including over self-excluded players allowed to gamble, responsible-gaming non-compliance and, in a September 2026 New Jersey order, bets on prohibited events, a 2022 data breach of about 1.5 million customers, and RG tools confirmed only by review sites. That keeps it on the 8.5 anchor with Caesars, below DraftKings and FanDuel (9).[2][15][17][72][13][20][21][52]

Weighted mean of seven scores, each 0–10 against the same published anchors for every book. Tap a row for the reason. How the rubric works.

Pricing: standard juice, a pricier teaser

One review site (July 2026) lists BetMGM at −110 on main lines and says FanDuel typically posts −108 where BetMGM shows −110 on NFL spreads. BetMGM publishes no juice schedule, and no reduced-juice offer was found.[55]

Example prices At −110 on both sides the overround is 4.76%. You need 52.38% to break even, and a $100 bet at a coin flip costs $4.55 on average, $2,272.73 over 500 bets. Taking −110 where another book offers −108 pays $90.91 instead of $92.59 on a win: $0.84 a bet, $420.88 over 500. Against −105 it is $2.16 a bet, $1,082.25 over 500.[calc]

BetMGM says parlay odds are calculated automatically on the bet slip; it publishes no fixed payout table. In New York its reported monthly hold was 5.1% in December 2025 (the lowest among New York operators that month) and 10.2% in June 2025, a swing driven by results. Whole-book hold mixes parlays, props, live bets and results, so it is not a main-line margin.[58][56][57]

Example prices Three −110 legs pay +595.79 against +700 at the no-vig price: $13.03 per $100 if each leg is a true 50%. The margin compounds with each leg. Same-game parlays are priced for correlation, so this does not apply to them, and BetMGM publishes no SGP margin.[calc]

Teasers are the weak corner. BetMGM’s own NFL teaser pages (undated) list the 2-team 6-point teaser at −130 and the 3-team at +160; a 2024 roundup had DraftKings at −120 and Caesars and Hard Rock at −125. Example prices: at −130 each leg must win 75.18%, at −120 73.85%. With each leg a 75% shot, a $100 teaser loses $0.48 at −130 and makes $3.13 at −120.[61][62][63][65][calc]

If one leg of a 2-team teaser pushes, the bet pushes and the stake comes back; with 3 or more legs the pushed leg drops and the bet is repriced, per BetMGM’s blog. No price per bought half point was found. Example prices: in vigged’s NFL model, from a no-vig coin flip on the main number, the hook onto 3 is worth about −120 and a non-key half point (−5.5 to −5) about −105. So −120 for the 3 is close to its worth; −120 for a non-key half point is expensive.[64][calc]

Example prices What the price costs over 500 bets

BetMGM's typical price (−110)

  • −110$2,273
  • −108$1,852
  • −105$1,190
  • −104$962

Expected cost of 500 bets of $100, each a true 50/50, at each price on both sides (vigged's calculator). BetMGM: −110, reported standard on sides and totals.[55][calc]

Markets: parlays you can change

Cash Out is offered on straight bets and parlays, though not on every bet or at every stage of an event. Edit My Bet lets you add, swap or remove selections or raise the stake on an open bet, and BetMGM says it is generally open when Cash Out is.[31][33][32]

Same-game parlays are called One Game Parlays, reported at up to 10 legs. Teasers cover full-game spreads, totals and some player props, up to 10 outcomes, and live betting is offered. These details come from review summaries, not a BetMGM rules page.[34][35]

If any leg of a BetMGM same-game parlay is voided, the whole SGP is voided. Its SGP product was reported to come from a third-party supplier (Genius/Sportcast), not built in-house; that report is from around 2022–23.[60][59]

Early-payout specials run for set events: the 2026 World’s Game “2-Up” offer paid a soccer bet once the team led by two goals, from 2026-05-31 to 2026-07-19. It has ended.[36]

No BetMGM prediction market or exchange was found through 2026. Its CEO said in July 2025 that BetMGM did not want to be a first mover, and MGM Resorts’ CEO said in September 2025 he opposes sports event contracts.[67][68]

Limits: about 1% in Massachusetts, by its own count

At a Massachusetts Gaming Commission roundtable in September 2024, BetMGM said it limits based on wagering patterns, bonus abuse, exploiting price errors, syndicate betting and low-liquidity markets, and not on results alone. It said about 1% of its Massachusetts patrons had been limited in some way.[40][41][42]

A limited account has its “stake factor” cut to 50%, 25% or lower: the maximum it will accept falls to that share of the normal limit.[40][41]

A 2023 Indianapolis Business Journal piece, based on interviews with bookmakers and accomplished bettors, reported that savvy bettors were being limited faster and more aggressively.[45]

Across all Massachusetts operators, 0.64% of bettors were limited (regulator data reported in September 2025), and consistent winners were more likely to have their limits lowered. A Massachusetts rule in force since 2026-06-01 requires books to tell a limited bettor within 48 hours, with specific reasons and the markets affected, including bettors limited before that date.[43][44][74]

BetMGM’s Massachusetts house rules set minimum and maximum wagers per patron and allow a maximum payout only by limiting the stake, never by cutting a winning bet afterwards. No dollar maximum was published in what could be read.[39]

Payouts: a review first, then the method

No BetMGM page with withdrawal times could be read. Review sites describe an internal review of 2–4 or 3–5 business days, then about 24 hours for PayPal, Venmo and Visa debit, 1–3 business days for Mastercard debit and Apple Pay, 2–4 for online banking, up to 5 days by wire and up to 14 by check.[27]

Sources conflict on the details: Play+ is given as within 6 hours or within 24, the minimum withdrawal as $10 or $20, and one payout ranking lists BetMGM at 12–48 hours. Check the cashier in your state before a large withdrawal.[27][28]

Deposits: PayPal, Venmo, debit cards, Play+, online banking, Skrill, cash through PayNearMe (CVS, 7-Eleven, Family Dollar) and the casino cage. Minimums are $10 on most methods and $20 at the Borgata cage. Review sites say BetMGM charges no fee on PayPal or Venmo; Play+, bank or Skrill fees may apply, and methods vary by state.[25][26]

In 2022 the BBB gave BetMGM an F, with 352 complaints in a year and 602 over three years, and an 86% response rate against 100% for FanDuel and DraftKings. Many complaints against DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM were about withdrawal waits. That data is from 2022.[30][29]

App: good iOS rating, thin evidence

One review site reports the BetMGM app at about 4.8 on the App Store from 240,000+ ratings and 4.2 on Google Play from 36,000+ reviews. The page is undated beyond “2026”.[50]

One commercial blog in 2026 describes a withdrawal paused for “enhanced due diligence” with no timeline. It is a single anecdote.[51]

Beyond that one review site’s figures, no outage reports, store review themes or accessibility notes were found. To check yourself, open the store listing in your state, note the rating, count and date, and sort reviews by most recent for words like “withdrawal”, “location” or “crash”.[50]

Promos: a second-chance offer, read the terms

The welcome offer described by affiliate sites in mid-2026 and October 2026: up to $1,500 back in bonus bets if your first bet loses; a winning first bet earns no bonus. The minimum first bet is usually given as $10. A July 2026 review page says no code is needed and lists a $10 minimum deposit, while other pages list a code; eligible states vary by source.[8][38][37][75]

Refunds come as five equal bonus bets, which cannot be withdrawn and expire 7 days after they are issued. Sources disagree on whether a $50 or $100 bet is the threshold for that split.[8][37]

Example prices A $1,500 first bet that loses returns five $300 bonus bets. If, as is usual for bonus bets, a winning one pays only the profit and not the stake, on −110 coin flips they are worth about $681.82, under half their face value. The full $1,500 in bonus bets comes only from losing a $1,500 bet.[8][calc]

Safety and licensing

BetMGM is licensed by each state regulator where it operates. It is owned 50/50 by MGM Resorts (NYSE: MGM) and Entain. People Inc made a non-binding offer in June 2026 for the MGM Resorts shares it does not own, MGM formed a special committee to review it, and press have speculated about a buy-out of Entain’s half; no deal had been reported by early October 2026.[2][3][73]

Fines on record: Pennsylvania $260,905 (January 2025) for 152 cases of self-excluded people allowed to gamble on iGaming, and $100,000 (March 2026) for weak KYC and anti-fraud checks; New Jersey $106,000 plus $51,789.31 disgorgement (June 2026) for responsible-gaming non-compliance, $72,000 plus $8,204.49 disgorgement (order dated September 2026) for accepting bets on prohibited or unapproved events, and $25,000 (2022) for prohibited college bets; Colorado $50,000 (November 2025, half suspended) for 48 college prop bets it self-reported.[15][16][13][14][17][72][18][20]

Massachusetts fined it $6,500 and $15,000 in March 2026 (a college prop and Petr Yan events) and $7,500 in June 2026, and in 2024 referred it to a hearing over 15,000+ college player props in same-game parlays; the outcome was not found. In 2024 New Jersey fined sister brand Borgata $75,000 for overstating promotional credits on the BetMGM platform.[21][22][23][24][19]

A data breach disclosed in late 2022 exposed data of about 1.5 million BetMGM customers; the consolidated suit was dismissed by joint stipulation in June 2025 with no terms disclosed. A New Jersey problem-gambler suit against BetMGM was dismissed in 2024 and the Third Circuit affirmed. A Tennessee suit filed in 2026 alleges BetMGM took nearly $300,000 in bets from a self-excluded bettor; those are allegations.[52][53][54]

Tools, per review sites: deposit, spend, loss, wager and session limits, reality checks, time-outs and self-exclusion. A general guide (not BetMGM’s own page) says self-exclusion commonly runs 1 year, 5 years or life, with state lists alongside, and that lowering a limit usually takes effect at once while raising one waits. vigged.com is for readers 21+; help: 1-800-GAMBLER.[48][49]

Support: BetMGM says live chat runs 24/7 and phone support 11 AM–8 PM ET in most states (12–8 PM in Nevada), with state-specific email addresses and some states, such as Arizona, Indiana and New York, listed without a phone line. One review site gives 10 AM–10 PM ET for chat.[46][47]

How it compares

On main lines, one review site puts BetMGM at −110 where FanDuel shows −108. Example prices: that is $90.91 instead of $92.59 on a $100 win, $420.88 over 500 bets.[55][calc]

On the 6-point 2-team NFL teaser, a 2024 roundup had DraftKings at −120, Caesars and Hard Rock at −125, BetMGM at −130 and FanDuel at −134.[63]

Example prices Kalshi’s taker fee on a 50¢ contract works out to about −107.25 a side, and Polymarket US’s reported fee to about −105.13, against BetMGM’s −110, before the bid/ask spread. Neither is a sportsbook: both are CFTC-regulated exchanges where you trade contracts against other traders.[69][70][calc]

Odds-data vendors describe BetMGM as a soft book priced for recreational bettors; that is a commercial claim, and no evidence shows whether it sets or follows lines. Same bet, better number: compare before you bet.[66]

Pros

  • Edit My Bet: add, swap or remove selections or raise the stake on an open bet, generally whenever Cash Out is open.[32]
  • Cash out on straight bets and parlays, same-game parlays reported up to 10 legs, and live betting.[31][33][34]
  • A 2-team teaser push returns the stake rather than losing.[64]
  • State-licensed in 22–23 states plus D.C., backed by MGM Resorts and Entain.[6][10][2]
  • 24/7 live chat, by BetMGM’s own account.[46]

Cons

  • Standard −110 main lines: $4.55 per $100 at a coin flip, against $3.70 at −108 (example prices).[55][calc]
  • 2-team NFL teaser at −130, behind −120 at DraftKings (2024).[61][63]
  • Limits accounts for betting patterns, cutting stake factors to 50% or less.[40]
  • No published withdrawal schedule; third-party sites describe a multi-day review first, and BBB gave it an F in 2022.[27][30]
  • Fines including over self-excluded players (Pennsylvania) and responsible-gaming non-compliance (New Jersey), and a 2022 breach of about 1.5 million customers’ data.[15][17][52]

BetMGM vs other books

  • vs FanDuel 8.3/10

One review site reports FanDuel at −108 on NFL spreads where BetMGM shows −110: $0.84 more per $100 bet at a coin flip, $420.88 over 500 (example prices).[55][calc]

  • vs DraftKings 7.9/10

On the 2-team 6-point NFL teaser a 2024 roundup had DraftKings at −120 and BetMGM at −130.[55][63]

  • vs Kalshi 8.1/10

Example prices Kalshi’s taker fee at 50¢ is about −107.25 a side, against BetMGM’s −110. Kalshi is a CFTC-regulated exchange: you trade contracts against other traders.[69][55][calc]
