FanDuel review

8.3out of 10

For straight-bet bettors who want main lines reported shorter than −110 and fast stated payouts. Parlay, teaser and consistently winning bettors should compare prices elsewhere first.

FanDuel is a state-licensed sportsbook owned outright by NYSE-listed Flutter Entertainment since July 2025, and FanDuel's own availability page lists 24 states for its sportsbook.[4][5][6][13]

Review sites report main lines at −108 where rivals show −110, but its documented Illinois parlay hold has run above DraftKings' and the rest of that market, and its 2-team NFL teaser has been reported at a fixed −134. It states most withdrawals are reviewed within 24 hours and paid within 24 hours by debit card, PayPal, Venmo and Apple Pay.[72][74][80][82][25]

It told Massachusetts regulators that it limits individual bettors, and it has been fined in Iowa, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ontario since 2025.[53][16][19][20][22][23]

Best for

  • Straight sides, totals and props bettors: review sites report −108 spreads, some −105 totals and −110 props, against −110 and −115 elsewhere.[71][72][73]
  • Bettors who want fast stated withdrawals: within 24 hours by debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay or Play+ once the review clears, with no deposit fees.[25][29]
  • Same-game parlay players who want SGP+, live SGPs on every NFL game, cash out and Bet Protect in one app, and accept the price.[36][38][40]

Skip it if

  • You bet parlays for value: a Barclays note put FanDuel's Illinois parlay hold at 23.5% against DraftKings' 17.7%.[80]
  • You bet 6-point NFL teasers: at the reported fixed −134, no leg in vigged's model clears the 75.67% break-even (example prices).[82][83][84][calc]
  • You win consistently: FanDuel says it limits individual bettors, and a Massachusetts bettor was reported capped at $50 after a $13,500 win.[53][61]

How vigged scores it

8.3/10
  • Pricing 25%8.0

Review sites report −108 spreads and some −105 totals, which would meet the 8.5 (reduced juice) anchor, but none is dated or measured. Its documented parlay hold is the highest among US books and the 2-team teaser was reported at −134, so it sits half a point below.[71][72][74][80][82][calc]

  • Markets 15%9.0

Major US sports with same-game parlays, SGP+, live SGPs on every NFL game, teasers, round robins, cash out and Bet Protect, and its own player-prop numbers. Futures and alternate-line depth were not confirmed from FanDuel.[36][41][43][38][40][86]

  • Limits 15%7.0

Typical US retail: FanDuel told Massachusetts regulators it limits individual bettors and across the board, and a winning bettor was reported capped at $50. No reports of voided winning bets were found, so it stays on the 7 (typical) anchor.[53][54][61]

  • Payouts 15%8.5

States 24-hour payouts on its main methods after a review of up to 24 hours (48 for a first withdrawal), with no deposit fees. Online banking takes up to 5 business days, checks longer, and older FanDuel pages and app reviews point to slower times.[25][29][26][27][43][35]

  • App & site 10%9.0

iOS 4.8 from about 2.3M ratings, with Google Play reported between 4.4 and 4.7, plus live betting, SGPs and cash out. A regional AWS outage on 2026-05-07 left some users locked out for hours during the NBA playoffs, which keeps it off the top.[43][44][96][97]

  • Promos 5%8.0

A small qualifying bet ($5) with no minimum odds reported, but bonus bets return no stake and expire in 7 days. The October 2026 offer could only be read on affiliate sites, which disagree.[47][48][49][50]

  • Safety & licensing 15%9.0

US state licenses, an NYSE-listed owner and a full set of deposit, wager, time and self-exclusion tools. Fines in Iowa, Massachusetts, New Jersey and Pennsylvania since 2025 and a CA$350,000 Ontario penalty make the record mixed, between the 8.5 and 10 anchors.[8][6][67][16][17][19][20][22][23]

Weighted mean of seven scores, each 0–10 against the same published anchors for every book. Tap a row for the reason. How the rubric works.

Pricing: shorter main lines, expensive parlays

FanDuel publishes no juice schedule. Review sites report NFL spreads often at −108 where DraftKings and BetMGM show −110, some totals at −105, and player props at −110 rather than the usual −115. All are affiliate-linked and undated, and no independent measurement was found.[71][72][73][74][75]

Example prices At −108 on both sides the overround is 3.85%: you need 51.92% to break even, and a $100 bet at a coin flip costs $3.70 on average, $1,851.85 over 500 bets. At −110 it is $4.55. Taking −108 instead of −110 pays $92.59 instead of $90.91 on a win: $0.84 a bet, $420.88 over 500. A sharp-level −104 would save another $1.78 a bet, $890.31 over 500.[calc]

Parlays are where the margin is. Illinois publishes parlay results by operator: FanDuel's parlay hold was about 21% in 2022, and a Barclays note (year not stated) put 64% of its Illinois handle in parlays at 23.5% hold, against DraftKings' 17.7%. Flutter reported a 14.2% structural margin on US sports bets in 2025 and targets 16% by 2030.[79][78][80][77][81]

Example prices Three −110 legs pay +595.79 against +700 at the no-vig price: $13.03 per $100 if each leg is a true 50%. At the reported −108 per leg, three legs pay +614.36 and cost $10.71 per $100. Same-game parlays are priced for correlation, so this does not apply to them, and FanDuel publishes no SGP margin.[calc]

Teasers are the weak corner. Action Network (undated) and an older InGame comparison list the 6-point 2-team NFL teaser at a fixed −134; the same Action Network piece also lists −120. Example prices: at −134 each leg must win 75.67%. In vigged's spread model the best legs, +1.5 to +7.5 and +2.5 to +8.5, win 74.15% and 74.78%, so none clears it. At −120 (73.85% a leg) those two would, narrowly. Model estimates, not a backtest.[82][83][84][calc]

Illinois bettors pay more: FanDuel added $0.50 to every bet from 2025-09-01 to pass on the state's per-wager tax, and Flutter said it would drop the fee if the tax were repealed. On 500 bets that is $250. Whether it still applies in October 2026 was not confirmed.[32][33]

Example prices What the price costs over 500 bets

FanDuel's typical price (−108)

  • −110$2,273
  • −108$1,852
  • −105$1,190
  • −104$962

Expected cost of 500 bets of $100, each a true 50/50, at each price on both sides (vigged's calculator). FanDuel: −108, reported on many spreads.[71][72][74][calc]

Markets: built around same-game parlays

The app covers the NFL, NBA, MLB and more, with live in-game markets, Same Game Parlays and SGP+, which adds legs from other games. Live SGPs are offered on every NFL game once it starts.[44][36][37]

Teasers, round robins and cross-sport parlays are offered, with teaser odds from a fixed chart. A push on a 2-team teaser voids it and refunds the stake; in a larger teaser the pushed leg drops and the bet is repriced, so a 3-team teaser with one push pays the 2-team price.[41][42][43][75][76]

Cash Out is paid to the wallet at once and cannot be reversed; not every bet has it, and it can be suspended in play. Bet Protect and Bet Protect+ cover eligible player-prop legs for a fee shown on the slip; the September 2026 version refunds or removes a prop when the player leaves injured.[38][39][40][92]

Alt Points lets you buy or sell a half point on the slip; no price per half point was found. In vigged's NFL model a half point onto or off 3 is worth about 20 cents of price (+100 to about −120), and one across non-key numbers about 7 to 8 cents. Pay more than that and the bought point costs you (model estimates).[85][84][calc]

One props-industry piece says FanDuel sets its own player-prop numbers, unlike DraftKings, Caesars and BetMGM, which share an outside source, and opens them at low limits.[86]

FanDuel Predicts is not a sportsbook: it launched with CME Group as a CFTC-regulated prediction market where you trade event contracts from $0.01 to $0.99, and they settle at $1 or $0. FanDuel offers sports contracts only where online sports betting is not legal. Review sites report a 2% fee on the maximum payout, and one reports a CME exchange fee of $0.01 per contract per side; no official consumer fee schedule was found.[45][46][87][88]

Limits: it limits individual bettors, and says so

In 2024 discussions with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission, including a roundtable in September 2024, FanDuel's Cory Fox said 0.043% of its Massachusetts bets were placed at the bettor's maximum, that FanDuel limits individuals as well as across the board, and that without limits it would shrink its offering. He described limiting as managing "our liability exposure".[53][54][55]

Massachusetts data across online operators put the average share of limited bettors at 0.64%; consistent winners were more likely to be limited and less likely to be in VIP programs. Figures for each operator were kept confidential.[56][57]

Since 2026-06-01 Massachusetts requires a book to tell a limited bettor within 48 hours, with an explanation and the markets affected. Early notices were reported as vague.[58][59][60]

In May 2024 a Massachusetts bettor who won $13,500 on a Super Bowl prop was reported capped at $50 on FanDuel. IBJ reports that New Jersey bars banning a customer for winning, while lower limits for individual accounts are allowed nationwide.[61][62]

No general maximum bet is published. One analyst says the bet slip shows your maximum before you submit; a review site's $1,000,000 maximum-payout figure has no source.[63][65][64]

Payouts: fast on paper, after a review

FanDuel says most withdrawals are reviewed within 24 hours, and a first one can take up to 48. After that: debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay and Play+ within 24 hours, online banking up to 5 business days, Cash at Counter within an hour, and checks within 10 business days of mailing. Large withdrawals can need extra review.[25]

Older FanDuel pages give other times: 2 to 4 business days for online banking, "three (3) business days" in the New Jersey terms, and 7 to 10 business days for checks. Read the help page for your state before a large withdrawal.[26][27][28]

Deposits: online banking, debit card, wire, Play+, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay, Cash at Counter, PayNearMe and gift cards, with no deposit fees. Credit cards have not been accepted for US deposits since 2026-03-02, including cards linked through PayPal, Venmo or Apple Pay. Some methods are barred in some states, such as PayPal and Venmo in Tennessee.[29][30][31]

You must deposit with a method before withdrawing to it, except online banking, Cash at Counter and check. Minimum and maximum amounts were not found on a FanDuel page, and review sites disagree.[29][34]

A 2022 WSJ analysis counted about 2,400 BBB complaints over three years against FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM combined, many about slow withdrawals; the books said holds follow signs of fraud or money laundering. App Store reviews still mention slow withdrawals.[35][43]

App: highly rated, one long outage in 2026

The iOS app showed 4.8 from 2,278,271 ratings. One snapshot of the US Google Play listing showed 4.4 from about 386K reviews (FanDuel's Ontario app also shows 4.4), and review sites give 4.5 from 384.7K and 4.7 from 351K.[43][44][90][91]

Recent additions, per press reports: bet tracking on select FanDuel Sports Network NBA and NHL broadcasts (December 2025), a Community Feed for sharing bets (World Cup 2026) and a Rewards Club overhaul (September 2026). FanDuel says it streams horse racing from 300+ tracks.[93][94][92][95]

On 2026-05-07, during the NBA playoffs, a regional AWS outage locked some users out. Casino.org reports about seven hours, with some bettors unable to cash out. Login problems were also reported on 2026-04-24.[96][97][98]

Store review themes: praise for navigation and rewards, complaints about slow withdrawals, bugs and customer service. In the ACSI 2026 survey FanDuel scored 74, down from 76, level with DraftKings and BetMGM.[43][99]

On desktop you need the GeoComply plugin to place a bet. If location checks fail, turn off any VPN and reset Wi-Fi and location settings.[100]

Promos: bonus bets, read the terms

FanDuel's own promo page offers $200 in bonus bets if a first cash bet of $5 or more wins, credited within 72 hours of settlement. The page is undated.[47]

Bonus bets cannot be withdrawn, expire 7 days after they are credited, and pay only the profit on a win: the stake does not come back.[48]

Example prices Because the stake does not return, $200 in bonus bets on −110 coin flips is worth about $90.91, less than half its face value. Longer prices keep more of it.[calc]

For October 2026, affiliate sites disagree: one describes $5 a day for 7 days for up to $350 in bonus bets, another "Bet Reset" tokens up to $1,000. Read FanDuel's own promotions page and the full terms.[49][50]

Existing customers get profit boost tokens, for example 30% on 3+ leg parlays, with minimum odds and a maximum stake, and a Boost Builder that does not apply to straight bets or Same Game Parlays.[51][52]

Safety and licensing

FanDuel is licensed by each state regulator where it operates, through Betfair Interactive US LLC. Flutter Entertainment, listed on the NYSE since January 2024, has owned all of it since July 2025. In November 2025 Nevada accepted FanDuel's surrender of its license after the regulator said FanDuel intended to offer sports event contracts it considers unlawful.[7][6][4][5][14][15]

Fines on record: Iowa $125,000 (2025, including bets on unapproved events) and $95,000 (2026, 21,638 bets on an unsanctioned basketball league and card markets); Massachusetts $15,000 (2025, LPGA bets before approval) and $10,000 (Boston College wagers, date unconfirmed); New Jersey $25,000 (March 2026, a coding error) and $5,000 (September 2026, seen only as a third-party copy); Pennsylvania $40,000 (2025, unlicensed staff).[16][17][18][19][20][21][22]

In Ontario, the AGCO fined FanDuel CA$350,000 in January 2026 for failing to flag 144 suspicious bets on Czech table tennis. FanDuel disputed it and said it was the only operator to report the activity.[23][24]

Tools: deposit limits by day, week or month, time limits and timeouts, maximum wager and loss limits, and self-exclusion for a year or more. Lowering a limit takes effect at once; raising one waits. My Spend shows deposits and net results over 7 days, 4 weeks or 3 months. vigged.com is for readers 21+; help: 1-800-GAMBLER.[67][68][69]

Support: live chat 8:00 a.m. to midnight ET with a target reply within about an hour, email in 12 to 24 hours, and @FanDuel_Support on X. No general phone line appears on FanDuel's support pages.[66]

A 2024 class action alleges FanDuel used TikTok tracking in breach of California privacy law; the outcome is unknown.[70]

How it compares

On main lines, review sites put FanDuel at −108 where DraftKings and BetMGM show −110. Example prices: that pays $92.59 instead of $90.91 on a $100 win, $420.88 over 500 bets.[72][calc]

On the 6-point 2-team NFL teaser, DraftKings was reported at −120; FanDuel at −134 or −120 depending on the source. On parlays, FanDuel's Illinois hold has run above DraftKings'.[82][80]

Example prices FanDuel Predicts' reported 2% fee on a 50¢ contract works out to −108.33, or −112.77 with the 1¢ exchange fee, against about −107.25 for Kalshi's taker fee, before the bid/ask spread. Neither is a sportsbook: both are CFTC-regulated exchanges where you trade contracts against other traders.[87][88][89][calc]

Same bet, better number: FanDuel's reported −108 is shorter than −110, but not the −104 of a sharp-level price. Compare across books before you bet.[71][calc]

Pros

  • Main lines reported at −108 (review sites): $3.70 per $100 at a coin flip against $4.55 at −110 (example prices).[72][calc]
  • Stated withdrawals within 24 hours by debit card, PayPal, Venmo and Apple Pay after review; no deposit fees.[25][29]
  • Deep parlay menu: SGP+, live SGPs on every NFL game, teasers, round robins, cash out and Bet Protect.[36][41][38][40]
  • iOS 4.8 from about 2.3M ratings.[43]
  • State-licensed, NYSE-listed owner, full responsible-gambling tools including My Spend.[8][6][67][69]

Cons

  • High parlay hold: 23.5% in Illinois per a Barclays note (year not stated), against DraftKings' 17.7%.[80]
  • 6-point 2-team NFL teaser reported at a fixed −134: each leg must win 75.67% (example prices).[82][calc]
  • Limits individual bettors, by its own account to Massachusetts regulators.[53]
  • Fines in Iowa, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ontario since 2025.[16][17][19][20][22][23]
  • Hours-long outage on 2026-05-07 during the NBA playoffs.[96][97]
  • $0.50 per bet in Illinois (from 2025-09-01) and no phone support line found.[32][66]

FanDuel vs other books

  • vs DraftKings 7.9/10

FanDuel reported at −108 on main lines where DraftKings shows −110; DraftKings reported at −120 on the 2-team NFL teaser, FanDuel at −134 or −120. DraftKings' Illinois parlay hold (17.7%) ran below FanDuel's (23.5%).[72][82][80]

  • vs BetMGM 7.6/10

Review sites report FanDuel at −108 on NFL spreads where BetMGM shows −110: $0.84 more per $100 bet at a coin flip (example prices).[72][calc]

  • vs Kalshi 8.1/10

Example prices Kalshi's taker fee at 50¢ is about −107.25 a side; FanDuel Predicts' reported 2% fee is −108.33, or −112.77 with the exchange fee. Both are CFTC-regulated exchanges, not sportsbooks.[89][87][88][calc]

FanDuel: common questions

Is FanDuel legit?

Yes. FanDuel is licensed by the regulator in each state it serves and owned by Flutter Entertainment, which is listed on the NYSE. It has also been fined by regulators in Iowa, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Ontario since 2025.

Is FanDuel legal in my state?

FanDuel's availability page lists its sportsbook in AZ, AR, CO, CT, IL, IN, IA, KS, KY, LA, MD, MA, MI, MO, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, TN, VT, VA, WV and WY. Third-party lists disagree on D.C., Puerto Rico and Maine, so check your state regulator's list of licensed operators. FanDuel left Nevada in November 2025.

How long do FanDuel withdrawals take?

FanDuel says most withdrawals are reviewed within 24 hours (a first one up to 48), then paid within 24 hours by debit card, PayPal, Venmo, Apple Pay or Play+, up to 5 business days by online banking, and within 10 business days of mailing by check. Older FanDuel pages give longer times.

Does FanDuel limit winners?

Yes. FanDuel told Massachusetts regulators it limits individual bettors as well as across the board, and a winning Massachusetts bettor was reported capped at $50 in 2024. In Massachusetts a limited bettor must be told within 48 hours, with a reason.

Is the FanDuel app good?

It is highly rated on iOS: 4.8 from about 2.3M ratings. Google Play figures run from 4.4 to 4.7 depending on the source. Store reviews mention slow withdrawals, bugs and slow support, and a regional AWS outage locked some users out on 2026-05-07.

Does FanDuel charge fees?

FanDuel says it charges no deposit fees. In Illinois it added $0.50 to every bet from 2025-09-01; whether that still applies was not confirmed. Credit cards are not accepted for US deposits.

What happens if a FanDuel teaser leg pushes?

On a 2-team teaser a push voids the bet and refunds the stake. In a larger teaser the pushed leg drops and the bet is repriced, so a 3-team teaser with one push pays the 2-team price.

Is FanDuel Predicts the same as the sportsbook?

No. FanDuel Predicts is not a sportsbook: you trade event contracts on CME Group's CFTC-regulated exchange, priced from $0.01 to $0.99 and settling at $1 or $0. FanDuel offers sports contracts only in states where online sports betting is not legal.
