Best sportsbook for winning bettors

If you win consistently, the question is whether the book keeps taking your bet. DraftKings’ CEO said in 2025 that it places limits on sharps, FanDuel told Massachusetts regulators it limits individual bettors, and BetMGM said about 1% of its Massachusetts bettors were limited.[1][2][3]

Example prices A limit cuts your edge in dollars. A bettor who wins 55% at −110 makes about $25 on average on a $500 bet; capped at $50, the same bet is worth about $2.50. A Massachusetts bettor was reported capped at $50 on FanDuel after a $13,500 win.[4][calc]

This page ranks state-licensed sportsbooks by vigged’s limits score, the same 0–10 rubric used in every review, with each book’s reason and sources below. A book that posts limits and takes any customer up to them scores high; documented limiting of winners is typical US retail; trying to void winning bets scores lower.[5][1][6]

Caveats. Limits change and are rarely published. Circa’s director says any book has limits for everybody, and much of the high-limit evidence is from 2020. Across Massachusetts operators, 0.64% of accounts were limited, and since 2026-06-01 a book there must tell a limited bettor within 48 hours, with a reason. Books are licensed state by state.[7][8][9][10]

Ranked by vigged's limits score

  1. Publicly welcomes sharp action, posts limits and takes any customer up to them, with six-figure bets reported on big games. Its director says any book has limits for everybody and names what lowers them, and much of the limit evidence is from 2020.[2][5][3][4][1]

Overall 7.6/10 · For straight-bet bettors in Nevada, Colorado, Iowa, Illinois, Kentucky or Missouri who want a book that states a low margin and posts its limits. Same-game parlay, live-betting and bonus players should skip it.

  2. Typical US retail: FanDuel told Massachusetts regulators it limits individual bettors and across the board, and a winning bettor was reported capped at $50. No reports of voided winning bets were found, so it stays on the 7 (typical) anchor.[1][2][3]

Overall 8.3/10 · For straight-bet bettors who want main lines reported shorter than −110 and fast stated payouts. Parlay, teaser and consistently winning bettors should compare prices elsewhere first.

  3. Typical US retail: house rules let Caesars restrict stakes per customer, an advocacy site grades its terms F and app users report limits. Its COO told Massachusetts regulators it does not ban customers for winning and one press piece cites bettors praising its limits, but that is the book's own account and anecdote, with no Caesars-specific data, so it stays on the 7 (typical) anchor.[1][2][4][3]

Overall 7.9/10 · For straight bettors and Caesars Rewards members who want quick stated withdrawals and profit boosts paid in cash. Heavy parlay and teaser bettors should compare prices first.

  4. Typical US retail: PENN told Massachusetts regulators it may limit patrons for reasons including taking advantage of the sportsbook, and publishes no maximum bet. No per-operator limiting figures and no voids were found.[2][3][1]

Overall 7.7/10 · For recreational and parlay bettors who want a well-rated app and a second-chance first bet. Price-sensitive straight bettors and consistent winners should compare prices elsewhere first.

  5. 5BetMGM7.0

Typical US retail: BetMGM told Massachusetts regulators it limits about 1% of bettors there and cuts stake factors to 50%, 25% or lower. No reports of voided winning bets were found, so it stays on the 7 (typical) anchor.[1][2]

Overall 7.6/10 · For recreational bettors who want an MGM-linked app with cash out, Edit My Bet and same-game parlays. Price-sensitive and winning bettors should take the better number elsewhere.

  6. Typical US retail limiting, documented and stated by the CEO, scored below the 7 anchor because pro bettors name it among the harshest limiters and it sought to void $934,137 of winning parlays after its own pricing error (denied in Massachusetts and New Jersey, allowed in Pennsylvania).[4][3][1][2]

Overall 7.9/10 · For parlay, same-game parlay and 2-team teaser bettors who want a deep menu and fast stated debit-card payouts. Price-sensitive and winning bettors should compare prices elsewhere first.

  7. No published limits policy; one affiliate page says it may restrict sharp accounts. Scored below the 7 anchor for voids: three Tennessee long-shot parlays voided then paid after press questions, and a 2026 New Jersey order for unilaterally voiding wagers.[2][3][1][4]

Overall 7.7/10 · For Florida bettors, who have no other legal online sportsbook, and parlay players who want Flex Parlay. Price-sensitive bettors in its other states should compare prices elsewhere first.

Frequently asked questions

Which sportsbooks don’t limit winning bettors?

None of the US sportsbooks reviewed here promises never to limit. Circa posts limits and accepts bets from any customer up to them, while its director calls a book that says it never limits anybody “logically inaccurate”. DraftKings, FanDuel and BetMGM say they limit.

Why do sportsbooks limit winning bettors?

In their own words, to manage risk and pay for the menu. DraftKings’ CEO said limits on sharps are “the only reason we’re able to offer the variety of bets”, and FanDuel described limiting as managing “our liability exposure”.

How common is it to be limited?

Massachusetts data across online operators put 0.64% of accounts under some limit from December 2024 to September 2025, and consistent winners were more likely to be limited. Figures for each operator were kept confidential.

Will a sportsbook tell me if I am limited?

In Massachusetts, yes: since 2026-06-01 a book must tell a limited bettor within 48 hours, with an explanation and the markets affected. Early notices were reported as vague. At FanDuel, one analyst says the bet slip shows your maximum before you submit.

Can a sportsbook void a winning bet?

It has been tried. DraftKings sought to void $934,137 of winning parlays after its own pricing error; Massachusetts and New Jersey refused, Pennsylvania allowed it. New Jersey fined Hard Rock in 2026 for unilaterally voiding wagers. If a winning ticket is voided, take it to the state regulator.

Are prediction markets an option for limited bettors?

Kalshi and Polymarket US are CFTC-regulated exchanges where you trade contracts against other traders, so they are not ranked here. Neither publishes a per-bet stake limit of the sportsbook kind and no documented limiting of winners was found at either; the practical cap is the order book, and Polymarket US has cut per-match caps on some tennis and esports markets. Court orders block Kalshi’s sports contracts in some states and Polymarket US in Nevada.
